This four storey purpose built block of flats in Barnes was suffering from cracking. After carrying out a site inspection and further investigations Checkel-Dalton Associates was able to confirm that the block was suffering from subsidence.
The cause of the subsidence was an ash tree located on the grounds of the property. The drainage was also affected by the tree root ingress and was in an unsatisfactory structural condition.
Checkel-Dalton Associates prepared a specification of the necessary remedial works and oversaw the works on site.
This consisted of removing the ash tree, repairing the cracked and fractured masonry externally and internally, re-levelling floors, internal decoration works and drainage repairs.
